End of life. Zebra has ended life on this wireless option kit, which is listed in Zebra's own Industrial Printer Accessories End of Life guide. It fits the Zebra ZT210, ZT220, ZT230, ZT410 and ZT420 only. It does not fit the current ZT111, ZT211, ZT231, ZT411 or ZT421, even though Zebra reuses the ZT200 Series and ZT400 Series names across both generations. For those printers the wireless part is Zebra P1083320-037A, which Barcode Printer Shop does not currently stock. Remaining kits are sold for the installed base of older ZT-series printers still in service.

Which printers this fits

Read this before ordering, because the naming is genuinely misleading. Zebra has used the names ZT200 Series and ZT400 Series for two different generations of printer. This kit belongs to the first: it fits the ZT210, ZT220, ZT230, ZT410 and ZT420. It does not fit the ZT111, ZT211 or ZT231, nor the ZT411 or ZT421, which are the current printers carrying those series names. Zebra's own parts catalogue for the ZT111, ZT211 and ZT231 lists P1083320-037A, P1083320-037B and P1083320-037C as the wireless options and does not contain this part number anywhere. If you are looking at a ZT231 on this site, this is not the card for it.

What the kit does

It adds an 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band radio to a printer that shipped without one, so the printer joins the wireless network and accepts jobs by address rather than over a cable. Dual band matters in a busy building: a 5 GHz association keeps the printer clear of the congested 2.4 GHz space that everything else is using. There is no Bluetooth in this kit. One point of planning: a ZT200-series printer has a single option slot, so fitting the wireless card means giving up whatever occupies it, typically the parallel or the second Ethernet option.

Fitting and firmware

Zebra documents this kit as field installable, so an existing printer can be converted in place rather than going back for service. Firmware is the prerequisite people miss: a ZT200-series printer needs V72.18.X or later and a ZT400-series printer needs V75.19.7Z or later before the card will be recognised. Check the printer's firmware level before ordering, and update it first if it is behind. The -097A suffix on this part number is the United States and Canada regulatory build; -097B is Japan and -097C covers the rest of the world, and the three are physically the same card with different approvals.
