Collection: Receipt Paper

Receipt paper is not a one-size-fits-all product. Different POS printers require specific paper formulations to function correctly. The three primary categories include:

  • Thermal Paper: The most common type used in modern POS systems (such as Clover, PAX, and Square). It is coated with a special chemical that changes color when exposed to heat from a thermal print head. This means no ink ribbons are required. It prints quickly, quietly, and provides dark, smudge-free text. Many modern thermal rolls are also manufactured to be BPA-free or Phenol-free for safety.
  • Bond Paper: Traditional paper rolls used primarily with impact (dot matrix) printers, commonly found in high-heat environments like restaurant kitchens. Because it does not rely on heat to print, it requires a separate ink ribbon to transfer text onto the page. It is highly durable and won't turn black if left in the sun or near a hot oven.
  • Carbonless Paper (Multi-Ply): Often used in impact printers when a merchant needs multiple copies of a single transaction (e.g., a customer copy and a merchant copy). It relies on pressure from the print head to transfer the image through two or three layers of paper (typically white, canary yellow, and pink).

Target Audience

Receipt paper is a mandatory supply for virtually any brick-and-mortar business that processes in-person transactions. It caters to a massive audience, ranging from independent food trucks and boutique retail shops using small 2 1/4" thermal rolls in mobile terminals, to large grocery store chains and multilane retailers requiring bulk cases of 3 1/8" thermal rolls for high-speed, continuous printing.
